CEMETERY COMMITTEE

Minutes of the meeting of the Cemetery Committee held at 6.30pm on Thursday 23 September 2004 at The Institute. Councillor Auger, Chairman, presided over Councillor Abel, Blessett, Fisk and the clerk. No members of the public were present.

017 APOLOGIES FOR ABSENCE – None

019 MINUTES OF THE PREVIOUS MEETING

It was proposed by Cllr Auger and seconded by Cllr Fisk that the minutes of the meeting held on 17 June 2004 be adopted. These were duly signed by the Chairman.

020 REVIEW OF MAINTENANCE AND INSPECTION OF CONDITION OF SURROUNDING AREA

The area had been recently inspected by members and it was considered the general condition was acceptable. It was recognised the Maintenance Worker may need further hours working in the Cemetery in the future to maintain standards.

The Clerk reported that the Maintenance Worker had requested that a trailer be provided to enable him to carry tools/equipment and refuse within the Parish. It was proposed, seconded and unanimously agreed that a suitable trailer and tow bar be purchased. The Clerk reported that three quotes had been obtained and it was proposed, seconded and unanimously agreed that the Maintenance Worker should obtain the one which was most suitable for the purpose.

021 BURIAL GROUND EXTENSION

The Clerk reported that there had been little progress but that she was awaiting a quote for fencing and would have further to report at the next meeting.

023 BURIAL, HEADSTONE AND CEMETERY REGULATIONS

The Clerk reported that she had been unable to produce a draft for this meeting due to pressure of work and it was agreed this would now be provided at the next meeting.
