The clerk has obtained quotes for options for removing the spikes from the fence – these range from £5,000 to £9,000. It was agreed to invite Wayne Huddlestone to give a quote to wire-brush and repaint the railings with Hammerite paint.

The clerk reported that the shed is in fact being used by the gravediggers to store their accoutrements and therefore could not be removed. Repairs are needed to the roof and it is recommended that racks be provided for the safe storage of the corrugated zinc sheets. The clerk was asked to arrange for this to be carried out.
