015 MINUTES OF THE PREVIOUS MEETING

The Minutes of the meeting held on 18 March 2004, having previously been circulated, were approved as a true and correct record and signed by the Chairman.

016 REVIEW OF PROGRESS OF PREPARATION WORKS FOR ALLOTMENT GARDENS

The Clerk reported that a further quotation for the necessary work for a water supply would hopefully be obtained early the following week. It was noted that there were not many contractors licensed to carry out work on County Highways and it was proposed, seconded and unanimously agreed to recommend to the full Council on 29 April 2004 that a bespoke contract should be used and the Council should consider the available quotations.

The Clerk reported that further quotations were still awaited for some sections of the groundswork. It was noted that the fencing of individual plots was not necessary and the Clerk was asked to contact the contractors to obtain quotes for ‘pegging out’ the plots.

017 REVIEW OF BUDGET AND GRANT AID OPPORTUNITIES

It was agreed that Cllr Helyer should investigate and suggest items for which suppliers may wish to consider sponsorship and report back at a later date.

The Clerk will continue to investigate grant opportunities.

018 REVIEW OF TENANCY AGREEMENTS AND ALLOCATION ARRANGEMENTS

The Clerk reported that there had again been continued interest and some prospective tenants were keen to be updated on progress.

Copies of tenancy agreements suggested by LALC were issued to the members for consideration and to report back at a later meeting.

019 DATE OF NEXT MEETING

The next meeting was arranged for 18 May 2004.

There being no further business, the meeting was closed at 8.40 pm.
