ALLOTMENTS COMMITTEE

Minutes of the meeting of the Allotments Committee held at 8.30 pm on Thursday, 18 March 2004 at The Institute. Councillor Anderson, Chairman, presided over Councillors Chambers, Helyar and the clerk. No members of the public were present.

015     MINUTES OF THE PREVIOUS MEETING

The Minutes of the meeting held on 19 February 2004, having previously been circulated, were approved as a true and correct record and signed by the Chairman.

016    REVIEW OF PROGRESS OF PREPARATION WORKS FOR ALLOTMENT GARDENS

The Clerk reported that planning permission for access to the allotment gardens was due to be sought very shortly.
The Clerk was asked to obtain further quotes for contractors willing to undertake work on the highway in order to obtain the required pipe work for water supplies.

017    REVIEW OF BUDGET AND GRANT AID OPPORTUNITIES

The clerk reported that no further information was available at this stage but that enquiries would continue into suitable funding opportunities.
It was agreed that the Clerk should contact local suppliers to report on the proposed allotments and investigate the possibility sponsorship of supplies or other financial support.

018 REVIEW OF TENANCY AGREEMENTS AND ALLOCATION ARRANGEMENTS

The Clerk reported that there had again been continued interest and some prospective tenants were keen to be updated on progress.
It was agreed to send copies of tenancy agreements suggested by LALC to all Committee members and for these to be discussed at a later stage.

019    DATE OF NEXT MEETING
    
The Committee agreed that monthly meetings were necessary to check progress and developments and the next meeting was arranged for 22 April 2004.

There being no further business, the meeting was closed at 9.00 pm.
