ALLOTMENTS COMMITTEE

Minutes of the meeting of the Allotments Committee held at 7.45pm on Thursday, 19 February 2004 at The Institute. Councillor Anderson, Chairman, presided over Councillors Chambers, Helyar, Thomas and the clerk. No members of the public were present.

001    APOLOGIES FOR ABSENCE - None.

002    DECLARATIONS OF INTEREST None.

003     MINUTES OF THE PREVIOUS MEETING

The Minutes of the meeting held on 23 October 2003, having previously been circulated, were approved as a true and correct record and signed by the Chairman.

007    REVIEW OF ARRANGEMENTS FOR LEASE OF LAND FOR ALLOTMENT GARDENS
    

    It was agreed that Cllr Anderson should meet with the clerk early in March to ensure all necessary arrangements are in place and report back to the next Allotment Committee meeting.

008    REVIEW OF PROGRESS OF PREPARATION WORKS FOR THE OPENING OF ALLOTMENT GARDENS

The clerk reported that the hedging plants had arrived and were now with the contractor. Work was due to commence shortly.
It was agreed that Cllr Anderson should meet with the clerk early in March to discuss other necessary arrangements for other preparation work and report back to the next Allotment Committee meeting.
Cllr Helyar is to investigate costs water troughs and dip tanks and will report back to the next meeting.

009    REVIEW OF BUDGET AND GRANT AID OPPORTUNITIES

It was agreed that Cllr Anderson should meet with the clerk early in March to discuss and report back to the next Allotment Committee meeting.

010    PURCHASE OF RELEVANT BOOKLETS

Cllr Thomas reported she had found several booklets suitable for tenants. It was agreed that
consideration would be given at a later stage as to whether it would be possible to make any purchases.

011 REVIEW OF TENANCY AGREEMENTS AND ALLOCATION ARRANGEMENTS

The Clerk reported that there had been continued interest and more names of prospective tenants had been received. It was agreed to look at tenancy agreements at a later date.


012    DATE OF NEXT MEETING
    
The Committee agreed to step up its meeting frequency. The date of the next meeting is 18 March 2004 at 8.30 pm.

There being no further business, the meeting was closed at 8.20pm.
